What Channeling Really Is

A Trauma-Informed, Spiritual, and Psychological Perspective

Are You Tapping Into Something Greater?

Have you been sensing a loving presence you can’t explain?
Do repeating numbers, synchronicities, or archetypes like Quan Yin keep showing up in your life?
Do you feel drawn—again and again—to explore spirituality even if you don’t fully understand why?

If so, you may be tapping into a highly evolved field of consciousness.
You may be channeling.

In this blog, I’m sharing my understanding of channeling based on my lived experience—both mystical and psychological. And I want to emphasize this clearly:

Everyone will come to understand this topic through their own lived experience.
Your truth will arise from your healing, your nervous system, your intuitive knowing.

This is simply my truth, offered with love.

What Is Channeling from a Psychological Perspective?

Channeling can be understood without any spiritual framework at all. Let’s begin there.

Consciousness

This is the part of you that is aware—your observer.
It notices:
• thoughts
• emotions
• beliefs
• body sensations
• the world around you

It can differentiate between self and other.

The Unconscious

The unconscious is everything you’re not aware of yet, including:
• childhood wounds
• internalized beliefs from before your frontal lobe fully developed
• generational trauma
• cultural conditioning
• religious programming
• survival patterns

These hidden influences shape your emotions, reactions, and worldview.

The Collective Unconscious (or the Collective Divine)

This is the deepest layer:
A field that contains universal symbols, archetypes, stories, and mythic energies that help humans make sense of life.

It is the birthplace of creativity.
It is the well of potential.
It is the root of what many recognize as divine intelligence.

When you “channel,” you are accessing one or more of these layers.
You are tapping into:
• your own consciousness
• your personal unconscious
• your generational patterns
• or the collective field

Some of what you channel will be healed.
Some will be wounded.
Discernment is everything.

Unhealed Channeling vs. Healed Channeling

Channeling is not inherently “good.”
You can channel both wounded or loving energies.

What unhealed channeling feels like:

• irritation
• anger
• judgment
• superiority
• oppression
• shame
• fear
• desire to harm or control

These energies can come from:
• your own wounds
• family patterns
• cultural programming
• religious conditioning
• collective wounds (like patriarchy, supremacy, domination)

You might also tap into collective archetypes such as:
• the “devil” symbolism
• systems of harm
• oppressive belief systems

These are still forms of consciousness—but not healed ones.

What healed channeling feels like:

• warmth
• clarity
• openness
• compassion
• emotional support
• peace
• truth
• wisdom

This is the realm of:
• divine archetypes
• ancestors who carry wisdom
• spiritual guides
• loving energies
• higher consciousness

This is where you might feel the presence of:
• Yeshua
• Quan Yin
• angelic energies
• compassionate ancestors
• divine archetypes from any tradition

Your body will tell you the difference.

Channeling from a Spiritual Perspective

If you believe in a literal spirit world, channeling expands even further.

Low-vibration channeling feels like:

• heaviness
• anxiety
• tension
• darkness
• confusion
• messages that harm self or others

High-vibration channeling feels like:

• love
• uplift
• peace
• safety
• clarity
• emotional truth
• support for your highest good and the highest good of others

You may feel:
• a presence
• warmth
• clarity in your intuition
• energy on your skin or around your heart
• sudden insight or compassion

This is your guidance system speaking.

Can Anyone Channel?

Yes—but safely channeling requires:
• a regulated nervous system
• trauma healing
• emotional awareness
• grounded presence
• discernment
• mentorship (when possible)

I personally began channeling without a teacher.
My teachers were the spirit world itself.

Later, I found human teachers who helped me understand what I was already doing.

This is why I always say:

This understanding is my truth based on my lived experience.
Your truth will emerge as you heal and connect with your own consciousness.

How to Identify Whether a Channel Is Safe

Your body is your compass.

If the energy feels:
• warm
• open
• loving
• supportive
• safe

…then the channel is likely healed.

If the energy feels:
• tight
• anxious
• disharmonious
• oppressive
• heavy

…then either the energy is unhealed, or something inside you is being triggered for healing.

Your body will always tell you the truth if you listen.

A Path Forward

If channeling calls to you, here are ways to begin:

• Read The Divine Within: Healing Ourselves to Heal the World
• Study with an energy healer
• Explore Reiki
• Work with a depth psychologist
• Meditate with archetypes
• Practice grounded intuition
• Join a spiritual community that resonates with your body

Follow what feels warm, open, and loving inside your body.
That is your guide.

Sending you deep love as you discover your own truth and your own relationship with this multidimensional field of consciousness.
