Did you know that every spiritual tradition and every world religion has the same core teachings? That we are love and peace in the image of whatever the beginning was. That we are meant to embody love and peace and do no harm to others, knowing that others are also love and peace in the form that they have taken. That we are meant to collaborate for the common good of all.
This is the core teaching of every spiritual tradition, every world religion, and every psychological theory. It is also biologically what the body is predetermined to do when childhood experiences support healthy development.
Wounds were added into spiritual traditions and world religions because of what society and culture needed at the time they were formed.
All spiritual traditions began because one person had a unique experience connecting to a level of consciousness within themselves through mindfulness and meditation. This led to a profound mystical experience where the frontal lobe was highly activated. The frontal lobe supports compassion, love, adult perspective, and collaboration. The part of the brain responsible for a sense of separateness becomes quiet. This is what happens when you meditate.
Individuals such as Buddha and Jesus, and within the teachings of Islam, experienced this state of consciousness. They began teaching others how to achieve it. They did not create religions. Religions were created by culture and society, especially by those in charge of the religion of the time or the government of the time.
These teachings carry wounds because governments discovered that spirituality could be used to control the masses. If leaders could alter the teachings to benefit a desired social structure, people might try to be loving and compassionate while also being taught separation from this truth within themselves. This became a means of control.
As seekers of inner divinity and a more peaceful life, you can embody the teachings of these master teachers in a way that honors our shared capacity while recognizing that we all hold wounds. This takes practice and time. It requires developing self-awareness.
Yeshua, or Jesus, taught that the kingdom of heaven or God is within. When you come to know yourself, you understand that it is within and all around you. God, the divine, or love and peace is within you. This is your essence.
When you develop self-awareness and understand why you believe what you believe, think what you think, and feel what you feel, you begin to discern what is a wound and what is helpful to yourself and others. You remember that you are a divine human being in human form. You are love and peace in human form.
You are the caretaker of your emotions. You are the caretaker of your thoughts. Some beliefs are helpful to you and others and some are not. With discernment, you choose whether to engage in belief systems that cause harm to self or other. This is your free will. Many spiritual traditions teach that we have free will and choice, yet this has also been distorted in ways that take away sovereignty.
When you do not understand that you are making choices and that you are sovereign, you may give your power away. You may give it to Jesus, to Satan, to governments, or to religions. You may allow others to tell you how you should behave. True healing and true embodiment of your divine nature arise when you discern what is inside you, what it means, and whether it is helpful to you and to the collective.
You are love and peace in the form you have taken. All of you is love and peace. Even the parts of you that sometimes cause harm, that judge or criticize, or that engage in behaviors such as drinking. These are protective mechanisms that form when you are disconnected from the truth of your sovereignty and your essence as love and peace.
If you found this helpful, consider subscribing to my YouTube channel. I teach how to embody the divine within through mindfulness, psychological theories, and spiritual practices such as Reiki, energy healing, and yoga.
I bridge the intersection of science, spirituality, and psychology to help you step into authenticity. The body often needs help rewiring to fully embody the inner compass, which is your divine nature. The inner compass is always present, but if you carry wounds, the brain does not access these parts of yourself with ease. Mindfulness helps you access them.
Know that you are deeply loved. All aspects of you are deeply loved. There is no part of you that you should be ashamed of. It is your responsibility to understand why you do what you do and to heal any aspect of yourself that leads you to harm yourself or others so that you can embody peace and love.
